CARMIM inaugurated this month a photovoltaic plant in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture Luís Capoulas Santos, the president of CARMIM Miguel Feijão and other entities.
An investment of around 500 thousand euros that aims to continue the work of environmental responsibility to contribute to a sustainable planet that our Cooperative has been developing in recent years. This new infrastructure "will produce energy for the operation of the bottling pavilion only with the use of the sun, which means saving about 80 thousand euros per year in the electricity bill and also 280 tonnes of carbon per year, which is so important in view of the need to make our lives greener, "explained the president of the CARMIM Board of Directors, who added that" the investment in this photovoltaic power plant was made exclusively with equity. "Miguel Feijão stressed that "the installation of the plant on the bottling pavilion will reduce the ambient temperature inside the room, improving the quality of the conditions of the workers." And that "a return of the investment is expected in less than seven years." Capoulas Santos said that "this investment shows a long-term vision and a of the cooperative ".
This photovoltaic power plant is composed of about 1600 panels and covers an area of 1360 m2. It has about 500kVa of power, and produces about 700,000 kwh annually.
